Артист: One More Outnumbered Название: Long Years Жанр: Alternative Год выхода: 2014 Label: Self-released О музыке:
This band, much like a troublesome teenager is a very complex thing. We are loud and aggressive, we like a good time and the music
expresses that. One More Outnumbered also likes to play with itself a lot, hence an air of self satisfaction tends to prevail around the band members
most of the time.
Like a delinquent the band has little concern for doing the right thing, more concern for forging its own mark and path despite the endless vast ocean
of generic bland formulaic tragedies force fed into the gaping holes of consumers…. One More Outnumbered is not for everyone and no attempt is made
to be so.
The music is heavy, raw and melodic. The songs are accessible to an audience looking for something with a bit of edge, unpredictable, expressive and
energetic, not heavy for the sake of it.
Beats and Backbone are provided by Chris Stynes, with over 10 years of hard gigging ‘neath his sweaty under carriage to his credit, a kicking is
delivered every time. Chris also brings creative input into the band as an accomplished guitar player himself and inputs into all areas of the song
writing process within the band. A natural entertainer and performer Chris is the light relief and the hardest hitter of the band all at once.
Bass and texture comes in the form of Smog, who by no coincidence also brings equal measure of experience to the band. Ever the melody merchant Smog
brings the required balance of groove, grind and skill into One More Outnumbered, the band simply could not function without his abilities. Smog also
provides lyrical and guitar input into the band and applies his recording and mixing expertise with passion.
Guitar work is prepared and layered by Trev and Shane (Seamus) who together , conspire, spar, lob and lash, riff, lead, melody and counter melody
across the stage. Completely different musical influences at play make for the mix of heavy riffage with infused intricacies that might even be
described as delicate at times (huh??). The sonic field ranges from huge bottom end concrete slabs to soundscapes awash with delays, modulations and
finesse provided in varying measures throughout the set. The guitar work is deliberate, sparing at times and complex at others, this is a partnership
for songwriting built on a common desire to express to an audience that its about having a good time and feeling something (no not that!!)..
Judgement, deliverance, forgiveness and empathy are confirmed from the lungs and vocal chords of Richie Murray. Lyrics delivered with passion, fire
and an energy that at times can be alarmingly intense. When he sings, he means it and his audience is left in no doubt about the sincerity of the
performance. Lyrically Richie writes from personal experience where honesty is the order of every day as he ensures clarity when required, raw emotion
when felt, and an ability to deliver a clear and definite message. Richie is the well that springs inspiration into the band, not just by his words,
but by his actions and by the dedication and commitment he shares with his band mates..
