Артист: Dark Lunacy Название: The Day Of Victory Жанр: Death Metal Год выхода: 2014 Label: Fuel Records / FUEL 530 CD О музыке:
Dark Lunacy is an Italian melodic death metal band, often using a string quartet and Red Army choirs.
The band formed in early 1997 when singer Mike and guitarist Enomys first met. Their first self produced EP titled Silent Storm (1998) achieved a
remarkable consensus. Line-up was completed by the arrival of Baijkal (drums) and Harpad (bass) and in the spring of 1999, the band released a
demotape called Serenity, consisting of 4 tracks in which the support of a real string quartet marked the future sound of Dark Lunacy. In 2000 the
band signed for Fuel/Self label publishing its first official album called Devoid, released in November of the same year. The band had an impressive
critical acclaim and, thanks to the singles "Dolls" and "Forlorn", Dark Lunacy entered the playlists of many. On March 2001 the band started the first
Italian tour and ended on May 12 at the Rolling Stone in Milan.
After a split-album with the death metal band Infernal Poetry and a tour with Sadist and Deformachine in 2002, in June 2003 Dark Lunacy released his
second album titled "Forget Me Not", presenting melodic parts guided by a string quartet, increasingly in evidence and with a general sound much more
aggressive than in the past. In 2006, after the releasing of the third album "The Diarist", Baijkal and Imer left the band.
This record is a concept album that deals with the siege of 900 days occurred in Leningrad during the Second World War, less orchestral than the last,
shows a maturity and artistic technique combining powerful and sharp guitar riffs with melodies full of pathos, anger and solemnity. That same year
Mary Ann and Mathias join the band, allowing the band to go on its live activity. In the fall of 2007 Baijkal and Imer rejoined the band while Mathias
left and Mary Ann moved to the second guitar. In 2009, Enomys left the band for personal reasons. Shortly after, Simon officially joined the band as a
guitarist. A drastic revolution in the line-up occurred in 2010: Alessandro Vagnoni and Daniele Galassi, from the band Infernal Poetry (drums and
guitar); Claudio Cinquegrana (guitar); Andy Marchini, from Sadist (bass).
On June 2010 Mike announced on the band's official website that the recording of their fourth album was on the making, also revealing that the
work was inspired by the memory of the dead and entitled Weaver of Forgotten. The album was released worldwide in November of the same year via Fuel
Records. Musically, the album is a departure from previous release: darker, martial, slow and oppressive; also characterized by the absence of Russian
themes that have always countersigned the signature style of the band. Mike Lunacy will be able to say later that Weaver Of Forgotten is an album of
reflection and recollection, the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one.
With this renewed line-up the band recorded in 2012 a live DVD in Mexico City and in the same year it undertook a successful tour in Russia. After the
release of the DVD, the band suffered once again the changing of other musicians. Marchini and Cinquegrana left and the band becomes a quartet again,
with the addition of Jacopo Rossi on bass. With this personnel Dark Lunacy gave life to the fifth full-length album titled The Day Of Victory, a
record that is linked thematically to the events of the Russian Second World War.
