Артист: Cult Of Vampyrism Название: Aporia Жанр: Gothic Год выхода: 2013 Label: Mercy Despise / Dark East Productions О музыке:
The “Cult of Vampyrism” project begins in May 2009 by Stefano A. (a.k.a. TRISMEGISTO, all instruments and composer)
with the intention to concretise some preexisting musical ideas filled with drone doom influences.
Metaphorically, the name uses the “vampirism” image, here intended as oppression, asphyxia, and abuse that the modern world acts day by day, hour
by hour upon human beings.
And it is exactly this ideological-philosophical part, as well as the interest toward doom music that allow the union to the project of the violist
Angela D.G. (a.k.a. KERRES) in December 2009.
Both Trismegisto and Kerres complete the first three tracks of the outgoing album “Fenomenologia”. In the same time they can complete in a
one-take recording and arranging session the classical-going track “XVII Febrarius MDC”, entirely dedicated to the philosopher Giordano Bruno.
This interests toward different kind of music parallel to the doom results as a completely heterogeneous composition and, from a classical drone doom,
Cult of Vampyrism gradually acquires originality and personality.
The tending to black metal drumming by Simone L. (a.k.a. ATUM), the progressive-taste bass lines by Giuseppe G. (a.k.a. ASPHODEL), the stoner-oriented
guitar lines by Angelo R. (a.k.a. RA) complete the tracks in arrangement and recording .
The finished product, beyond the doom soil upon which is built, presents climaxes in black metal, stoner, progressive, psychedelic and classical
The first product has the name of “Fenomenologia”, produced by Mercy Despise in 2011.
The combination of all the influences is clearly represented by the two mostly different tracks of the album: “The Chant of the Owl” and “On the
Edge of the Abyss”.
Cult of Vampyrism stops its activity until July 2012. The project, composed now only by Trismegisto, takes a new turn when he meets Piera G. (a.k.a.
MORGENSTERN, Voice and Lyrics).
Coming from two totally different backgrounds, they soon start their collaboration, and during the successive months they constantly work, recording
This time the esoteric influence is stronger, and two figures more than any other represent their inspiration: F.W. Nietzsche and T.S. Eliot.
The sound is reinvented, with ‘70s doom sonorities recalling the influences of The Goblin, authors of Dario Argento’s movies soundtracks.
In july 2013 the first track is released on Youtube, "Absynthe", extracted from the outcoming album "APORIA".
8th October 2013: APORIA is out in worldwide distribution by Mercy Despise and Dark East Productions.
