Артист: VA Название: Anjunadeep 05 (Mixed By Jody Wisternoff James Grant) Жанр: House Год выхода: 2013 Label: Anjunadeep О музыке:
Dedicated to deep electronic grooves with emotion, soul and melody, Anjunadeep holds a unique position within today’s dance music world.
Picking up 5-star reviews everywhere from Resident Advisor to DJ Magazine, the label's releases regularly feature in the sets of the world’s
most respected DJs (Solomun, Breach, John Digweed and Kerri Chandler are just some of those who have supported over the past year), and are always
just as likely to sit perfectly on the Sunday afternoon home stereo as the Saturday night dancefloor.
In the fifth instalment of their series, Anjunadeep shows off its current crop with two mixes that journey across ambient electronica, deep house,
modern garage vibes, and spacey techno. First up is label boss James Grant, whose annual compilation mixes are eagerly anticipated by the Anjunadeep
faithful - with good reason. Beginning on the beautiful chilled electronica of Croquet Club’s “Cardigan” (supported on BBC Radio 1 by Zane
Lowe), Grant’s mix is loaded with exclusive original material from Dusky, Vincenzo, Tom Middleton, Beckwith and DAVI.
Next, Anjunadeep welcomes Bristol’s Jody Wisternoff for Anjunadeep mixing duties for the first time. One half of legendary dance act Way Out West,
Jody has spent over two decades behind the decks and his monthly Intensified podcasts are a treasure trove of modern classics from across the house
music spectrum. Bringing that sensibility to his first Anjunadeep mix, Wisternoff’s CD is a blend of sunshine-soaked deep house (San Francisco
talent’s Lane 8’s brilliant “Be Mine”), melodic deep house (Alfred Taylor’s “Kuza”) and Good Looking-esque liquid jungle atmosphere
(check Jody's own rework of Skanna’s ’93 jungle classic “This Way”), with a garage curveball from current hotshots Leftwing Kody and
some deep washed out techno from Matt Lange and Andre Sobota along the way.

Between breaking through to the DMC Hip Hop finals as a fresh faced 13 year old in 1986, and putting the finishing touches to his
band's fourth studio album in 2009 a lot has happened. His early 90's act Sub Love were one of the largest draws on the UK Rave festival
circuit and his historic hook up with Bristol DJ Nick Warren in 1994 resulted in epic prog house outfit Way Out West. With big singles (The Gift/
Ajare/ Mindcircus/ Killa) the majors came running to the duo and it produced their enormously prolific remix period. Aside from Way Out West's
recording success, as a DJ in the early '90s Jody could be seen behind the decks at massive raves like Universe. In addition, he acquired a 3
year residency at Bristol's seminal Lakota Club and was also found collaborating with Die of Roni Size's Full Cycle Crew. In the past few
years, Jody has continued to travel to Asia, Australia, South America, Mexico, Canada and beyond spreading his own and the Way out West sound. Recent
solo ventures have seen him release on such prolific labels as Anjunadeep, Witty Tunes and Dirty Soul. Jody is characterized by his quest for the
perfect beat and bass line, the need to layer the best string, to squeeze the most perfect note from the technology available, to match the best track
for the best moment at the right party. And it's that constant desire for perfection that drives him on and on.
