Артист: Flexstyle Название: Enchanted Жанр: Trance Год выхода: 2010 Label: Self-Released О музыке:
I’ve been a music addict ever since I was about two years old or so, when I got my first Walkman. As I grew up, I’d play music on my stereo
constantly, driving my family nuts. My parents decided that I’d start learning an instrument around the time I turned nine years old. They chose the
violin–a very nice instrument, to be sure, but not one that I wanted to learn. Nevertheless, I started to learn this venerable instrument using the
Suzuki method and my very patient teacher, Cami.
Around the age of 12 or 13, I stopped learning violin and started lessons on the piano. I also started teaching myself how to play the drums, too. My
piano teacher, Shellie, had a copy of this program called ACID Music Studio, which I learned about when I was 15 years old or so. This program allowed
me to take audio loops and arrange them, and thereby make my own music! I was thrilled, of course. As I progressed, learning how to use this program
and creating my own “songs,” I found ACIDplanet.com. Uploading my songs and having them critiqued helped me no end. I eventually found many people
on AP that used this program called “fruity loops.” I eventually began using FL Studio, and was able to finally compose my own music.
During this time, I also ran sound at my church for the youth group, honing my love for live sound as well.
At the age of seventeen, I started classes at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, an audio engineering school in Tempe, Arizona. This was
where my ability to mix really took off, and my productions started achieving a level of quality that I’d never had before. I graduated in May of
2009, and released my first album, Elements of Creation, the same month.
This first album, Elements, was a direct result of my desire to use my musical abilities to glorify my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While it’s
completely instrumental, each song on the album is supposed to represent a different day of creation as detailed in the book of Genesis in the Bible.
I am a Christian, and I make no apologies about this fact. I do want to use my gifts to praise my God, as without Him I’d have nothing in the way of
talent or musical ability.
After Elements, I released A Sense of Urgency 2009 (in November of that year), a collection of dance-oriented tunes, and Enchanted (March 2010), a
collection of tunes designed to showcase the beauty of ambiance and simple melodies. Neither album had a specific theme, other than the musical styles
However, my fourth (and most recent) album release, Eye of the Storm, has a clear backstory–it follows, in both written and instrumental form, the
journey of a beleaguered group of travelers in a vicious storm.
In the future, I plan to release more electronic music albums, but I’ll also be branching out into other forms of music as well, such as rock and
hip hop. I’m also beginning to pick up steam as a remixer and game music composer, thanks to independent musicians and game projects.
